Services

Individual Therapy

Life transitions occur at all ages and can sometimes be coupled with difficulties or stress. I offer uniquely tailored individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. When working with individuals, I believe the relationship I maintain with each person is an integral part of our work together. Together, we will formulate your personal goals, identify areas where you might be feeling stuck, and reduce symptoms to build the life you want to live.

Sessions might focus on identifying emotions and related factors that lead to feeling stuck or that contribute to recurring patterns in your life. I aim to empower you to build upon your resilience, enhance your tolerance for the uncomfortable, and pivot to live a life that is aligned with your current and future goals.

Parenting Support

Raising a child, regardless of the child’s age, comes with unique challenges and can impact an entire family dynamic. When it comes to creating change for your children and the dynamics around them, parents are a key mechanism for this change. At Pivot Psychology, my work with parents provides you with tools to help you more effectively parent those you love. I also support parents in managing the waves of emotion and experiences that come with parenting. My sessions with parents pull from a variety of areas of my training based on what is needed and includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Behavioral Parent Training (BPT).

School Consultation & Educational Trainings

The more environments we can affect change in, the more likely we can support those around us. I believe in a team approach and integrating treatment across the environments that we live. Children spend the most amount of their awake time at school and so the more education and tools we can provide to schools, the more effective we will be. I offer interactive training and consultation to support and educate school teams on evidence-based practices that they can bring to their classrooms.

What to Expect

  • If you are interested in scheduling an appointment or want to learn more, we will set up an introductory 15-minute consultation call. The goal of this call is to learn about what you are looking for and your current needs. You will also be able to ask questions about my approach. If we decide we want to move forward, we will then set up an intake session.

  • During the intake session, I will gather important information related to your current needs, symptoms, and to understand your history as it relates to why you are seeking treatment today. If you are a parent or caregiver reaching out for treatment for your child or teen, we will schedule two separate intake sessions. The first will be a 90-minute parent/caregiver intake session followed by a 60-minute intake session with your child. After this initial intake session(s), I will provide recommendations for next steps which may include ongoing therapy appointments with me or a referral for another provider if I feel we are not a great fit based on my expertise.

  • Therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes and occur on a weekly basis. Though, depending on need and type of treatment being provided, longer or more frequent sessions may be recommended. We will collaborate on treatment goals during the initial intake period and will continue to reassess as treatment progresses. .
